Default Suggestions for interesting/showy evergreens for large containers

Grateful for suggestions for planting in 20" pots and 30" troughs -
ideally low maintenance evergreen, for reasonably sheltered terrace and
drive, frost not really a problem (Torbay) - something a bit more
interesting than pieris or dwarf conifers.
