Default Aeonium 'Schwartzkopf'

I have one or two of these and taken a couple of cuttings. Problem is the
cuttings are proving not nearly as black as the parent. They are black
towards the tips of the leaves but green elsewhere. Does anyone else have
this experience? I assume that perhaps my 50/50 mix of JI3 and and course
grit is perhaps not right? any ideas?

regards

Philip
