This weeks Screws of the World has an article about growing
Blueberries.

Where would one get the plants?

Can they be grown in the ground?

Any other information about them would be appreciated.

Hi Alan,
I grow Blueberries in the ground.
We are on a neutral soil and I'm told that it needs to be acidic.
Despite that we get heavy crops each year.
You need more than one bush as they are not self-fertile.
We bought three from "Homebase" and they have been very successful.
The wife has been less successful turning them into Blueberry muffins and
muffins are now firmly off the menu.....

(my apologies to Alan for emailing this reply by mistake - sorry, I'm a bit
new to all this stuff )

I also have had one only, in a pot of ericaceous compost, and it
fruited well the last 2 years, though still small. I got it mail
order from Parker's I think. Variety, if I recall, Top Hat. I now
have another small one but it has not flowered yet. Variety unknown.

There have been blueberry discussions in Oct, Nov and Dec last year if
you can look up the archive.
