Cornus alba 'Siririca'

i have just purchased th above shrub to put in a very damp area of the
garden. its not bog but very wet & spongy underfoot will this plant grow
well in these conditions. the garden centre said that it should be fine but
everywhere i look i get differing answers as to whether they will like the
area or not.

I think you mean Cornus Alba sibirica.

It will grow in moist or dry ground.

You will be pleased to see that Cornus Alba is included in shrubs which
will grow in a wet or a damp area, as outlined in this site.
