Seeds that need frost to germinate. Can they go in the freezer?

Hi,
I have some seeds "sea holley" it says on the packet that they need
frost to help them germinate. Will putting them in the freezer for
about 1 hour do the same job?

Thanks

Would rather the fridge .. maybe overnight .. rather than the freezer

My "good book" says.....18 to 22 C for 3 weeks. then -4 to +4C for 4 to 6
weeks followed by 5 to 12 C for germination...(the fridge is a perfect place
for the cold treatment)

Many perennials require an intial warm period followed by a cold treatment
prior to actual germination ...HW
