Default Sycamore suckers again

I have asked this before but haven't got an answer yet so:-...I have a
large sycamore in the garden with large suckers at the base which I wish
to remove.. After I have removed them how do I stop regrowth.. I would
remove the tree but its too big..

It has been my experience that sycamores will sucker as long as they live.
Your best bet would be to cut them every fall while they are still small
enough to manage. Sorry. Dwayne

And they keep suckering after you chop them down as well.

Yes we have this irritating problem also but I love the trees and the wind
protection they give us so we've tried various methods. The most
satisfactory for us is to pull the little suckers off at the trunk/base if
you can, whilst they are still small. We've found that if you cut them off
with a pruning saw or secateurs/loppers when they're a bit bigger they seem
to make extra little growths around the area in protest. Our cherries do
this too :-( so it's almost a full-time job of vigilance - but satisfying
once nicely tidied up.

You can't stop them regrowing while the tree lives! I use mine around the
garden they are flexible and make good plant supports when woven together as
hoops.
