Thanks...and the neigbours wondered why a lady with 3 kids didnt buy
theres...that was when the conservatory didnt take up 50% of the only space
available.

Don't like either of them, too much going on in both with regards to hard
landscaping in too small a space. No room for plants.
Then I am a plantsperson not a gardener. :-)

The 'Dusthead' does look very much like the outside area of a B&Q
Retail Shed.
Both look very new. Maintenance will be necessary as nature attempts
to reclaim its territory!

Well i do need some place for a 5 year old to play....oh and if he goies out
in the snow he can still play on the gravel unlike grass!


Dusthead had his to teenage girls liing with him and g/friend now so have
loads of room to play!!!

so not enough plants! i assume replace the gravel---weird co in my village
most people have a bit un kept grass....maybe i should do that with a small
border with bedding plants so i have nothing over the winter!

well i assume your like him next door - thought he was gonn have best garden
but is jealous now....

I know - why dont u send a pic in

we wont have a garden if we didnt mind maintenance we would have slabed
everything

I'm not sure which of those descriptions I'd regard as the worse insult!

But what is all this about? You are quite clear about which garden you
prefer. So why the need to ask other people, and to put up pictures of
you neighbour's garden in a public forum? Presumably you did ask his
permission?

just like he didnt ask permission for his summer hose to look stright into
ours - or when he made is garden level when the whole street slops

so his fence is 7.5 foot on my site but just to his chest on his and it over

I finally succumbed and had a look at the sites. I like neither I'm afraid.
I prefer a more natural effect than either has gone for.

Obviously, you have a downhill slope to contend with and it looks as though
you've both resorted to terracing to a greater or lesser extent. If his
terracing is supported by your fence, then you'll have a problem a few
years down the line, but if he's up a higher part of the slope than you
are, it is inevitable that the fence will be lower on his side.

My parents have to deal the side effects of such a slope problem about twice
a year. They live next to a service station and the odd drunk will do a
runner from a taxi over the 7' wall. When they hit the bottom of the 25'
drop on the other side, they normally break an ankle or two. They've been
known to flatten whole swathes of vegetables or herbs in the process (they
writhe in agony).
