Default Tesco "new potatoes" gone to seed?

Hi,

I bought some new potatoes from Teso a ten days ago.

I've just come to use them only to find most of them covered in 1/2" shoots.

Is it possible for this seasions spuds to grow shoots like that or are they
last years early crop that have been chilled in some way?

Thanks Steve.

Yes. they should be ok to plant or if you are eating them cut away all
growth. Potatoes however large or small will always produce shoots.
