Default Weed of the Week: Ivy-leaved toadflax (Cymbalaria muralis) [1/1]

This charming little weed has neat evergreen leaves and pretty flowers
from early spring to late autumn - so you leave it to grow. Being
pretty is a huge advantage to a garden weed.
When a flower fades, the stalk bends down and pushes the seed pod into
the ground, or into a crack in your wall or paving where you can't
easily get it out. Once established its underground stems break if you
pull on them, so there's always some left to re-grow.
It comes from south-east Europe but was growing in England in 1617; it's
also widespread in North America.
