Default It was a mild winter...

A couple of days ago I had a look at the tubs and boxes which will soon get
their summer plants, as it won't be too long before the violas and
polyanthus will be over their best. I was amazed to see last year's
fibrous begonias pushing through! I've also found a couple of pelargoniums
which have survived the winter at the bottom of a sheltered south-facing
wall, and are beginning to send up new growth.

It will be interesting to see if these survivors do as well as this year's
new plants.

We have one Pel (Doris Moore) that has been flowering of sorts through the
winter, it's in a large pot on our North facing patio tucked in the corner
against our house and garage walls. Now growing into a very healthy looking
plant that will have to be cut back, two Gazanias have also survived in the
same pot.
