Default poorly cherry tree

I wonder if anyone has an idea for my cherry tree. In spite of being
large (maybe 20 ft) it has few flowers and has not fruited. I don't
remember the variety but it is very late; our earlier cherries fruit well.

The tree looks sick, with long branches and leaves only on new and 1 yr
old wood. There is significant branch die off. There are no visible
galls or fungi, and no sign of internal damage to dead branches. No
particular insects except the aphids that plague all of our fruit trees.
It hasn't been pruned.

I left it in when I had the backhoe in to pull stumps of trees downed in
the wind last winter, so am probably stuck with it for another couple of
years.

TIA for any advice,

-E
