Default Mind your own business

Chris had a couple of emails over this curse and perhaps you can answer the
question. Is it the salt or the hot water? I can assure you that in our
case, there is very little salt.

Care to comment?

Baby's tear drops

A better name for it.
Makes a lovely liner for hanging baskets instead of moss

Curious that this should come up now, because I was thinking of
posting on just this topic.

The other day I made up some Root-Out. Now Root-Out is only licensed
for use as a compost accelerator. But on the way to the compost heap I
accidentally managed to get some of the solution onto a large patch of
MYOB, and it has killed it. Great! I shall have to be careless in
other parts of the garden where MYOB is flourishing.

Actually, I see no problem in using it for killing MYOB. As I said, it
is licensed as a compost accelerator, and all I'm doing is
accelerating the conversion of MYOB to compost, but 'in situ', IYSWIM.

A problem for many may be the availability of Root-Out, as I doubt
it's sold in Garden Centres any more (although I've not looked). I
have some old stock. But it's available here as a compost accelerator:

However, the essential component is available. It's ammonium
sulphamate. Note the spelling: sulphamate, not sulphate. Get it on
eBay. http://tinyurl.com/lw6wgp6

The RHS site says Glyphosate works on MYOB. I'm still experimenting on
the patch where I didn't manage to 'spill' Root-Out over all of it, to
see if also works. The Root-Out was quick though; the MYOB was dead in
a few days. https://www.rhs.org.uk/advice/profile?pid=348
