Don't know if anything can be done, but: my wife bought two planters
full of bulbs in B&Q yesterday, for a pound each. The planters contain a
bag of compost and three types of bulbs (crocuses daffodils and tulips).

Is there anything I can do to help these bulbs "catch up"? (They should
have been planted weeks and weeks ago.)

Cheers

Yes.
Plant them ASAP and nature will do the rest, though don't expect a great
crop of flowers Next Year, the bulbs will use it to revitalize themselves.

Yup. I agree with David. You won't be able to keep them in the pots
after this season. Plant them in the garden and feed them to help build
up the bulbs.
