Regurgitated from uk.d-i-y (thanks to PeterC). Something useful for
free! Seems you have to use the Chrome browser and have a GMail address
though

Now to discover the benefits over the non-pro version....

and the benefits over using Google Maps :-)

I find Google Earth (plain or pro) runs without a browser running.

I only have a stand alone version.

So far as I know that's the only one.

I
just tested it by loading Google Earth and ending all the browser
processes. Google Earth is still up! Google Maps seems to need a
browser running.

but Google Maps is much faster.

I've only tried one comparison and the results of planning the same
journey are identical. I assume it the same team using a lot of common
code.

Google Earth takes ages to start up.

Timing.... 2.27 seconds. How is that ages?

Far longer than that on my PC.

I cheated, I have an SSD. Everyone should try one they're amazing.
