I am wanting to cover up a long strip of lawn and make a flower bed.
The soil/compost will only be about 6-8 inches deep on top of the grass.
I have read that you can cover up the grass with cardboard - then the topsoil -
and the grass will not reappear in the flower bed.

Any one done this - or any other ideas: I don't really want to be lifting the
grass-sods if necessary?
