Both my wife and myself have Nokia Lumias, a 520 and 630, and we haven't
had a problem with the micro USB. Considering how mine is in my pocket
all the time and gets bashed about etc perhaps I'm lucky.

Thank you everyone who has given time to my problem.

I was aware of the hard reset buttons but this wipes the memory so would be
counterproductive.

Bob I had seen the Video but the phone is so dead the computer doesn't know
its there.
However the second link you posted looks interesting (I hadn't found it in
my searches) so I will ask daughter if she wants to give it a go.


If you read the replies to the video it appears with some people it took a
couple of hours for it to show on their computer but in most cases it did
eventually. But if the mini USB is broken it wouldn't work anyway.
