I'm afraid I can't remember, but smell is pretty subjective anyway.

Some say the scent is wonderful, others can't even detect it. I remember
it as being unpleasant, perhaps in the same way that some people find
hyacinths and some narcissi unpleasant, whilst others rave about the
scents. Fortunately mine died after a couple of years of cold, wet
winters. That saved me having to dig them up.
