I can recall long autumn days a decade or so back when I managed to grow
tomatoes outside until Xmas but looking back they were badly blighted.
However the plastic lid over the current ones seems to be protecting them.

Our outdoor Toms on our allotment finally got Blight last
week so we grubbed them all out. Good year for them though after a slow
start.
