I have a couple of dozen Datura metel 'la fleur lilac' that I seemed to

hardiness?

In terms of frost, not all all. In other respects, very. They need
protection over winter - keep them dry but not dessicated and frost
free. However, as far as the summer goes, any sunny corner will do,
though I would keep them protected until it warms up properly.

Also some 2ft high Abutilon x suntense 'Jermyns' - are these hardy?

No, but hardier. They can be grown outside on a sunny wall in the
warmest parts, but are conservatory plants elsewhere. No heat needed,
just a bit of protection. I believe that they can be grown in large
pots.
