Default [IBC] Crasulla - Jade - To root prune or not to root prune

I have a large Jade that has been living its life with me in an 8-inch
plastic pot. After a few years of work I've recently considered moving
it to an appropriate bonsai pot. As far as size I think the root mass
will fit nicely into the appropriate sized bonsai pot, however I am
concerned about the depth not being quite shallow enough. My question
is about root pruning. I seem to remember a thread on here that
basically said do not disturb the root mass of a jade. Any advice on
pruning or even fanning out the base of the root mass??

As far as specific jade variety, I don't know. I can say the leaves are
a yellowish-green, smaller in size (no more than a dime or nickel in
size) with reddish tips, and it does seem to like to grow a little leggy
like a vine. Beyond that I don't know.

Thanks in advance.
