Default Scorpions in Austin suburbs?

We got plenty, we are in NE Austin, just past the edge of the city, we have
a big garden and I really don't like killing them, we put them outside with
the snakes and such. They only hurt for about 5 minutes. They pack a big a
wallop for those moments.

They are just protecting themselves from us giants.

Be at one with your surroundings!!!!

Has anyone had problems with scorpions in the Austin suburbs?

Back in the late 1970s I remember that a friend's house near
Stassney and Nuckols Crossing was unbelievably infested with
scorpions. You would turn on the garage light and see dozens
scatter. Of course this was a new subdivision at the time,
so perhaps the house was on or near a debris pile of some kind.
That house gave me the creeps and I probably spent no more
than 10 minutes there before excusing myself.

On the other hand, my brother in law has lived for several
years in two subdivisions near Slaughter & Brodie, and
says he's never seen 'em.

If you have a scorpion problem: do you have a lush lawn or
exposed dirt and outcroppings in your yard?
