Default PVC sideing & raised flower beds

"Dr.No" wrote in message news:4Mgta.723$MW.74753@localhost...
We are in the midst of constructing some raised flower beds up next to the
house, we are concerned about the siding on the house we go to fill the beds
with dirt. what is the best way to protect the siding/house from the soil
that we will use to fill the beds.
Thanks for any suggestion that you may have.

Don't do it.
All you are doing is either trapping moisture into the structure or
bringing moisture into the structure. Rotted sheathing ,framing ,and
sill are what I envision. Did I forget mold, termites and carpenter
ants?

Barring this look into removing a course of siding and flashing in
some rubber pond liner or rubber roofing down the side of the house
and under the bed in an L shape.
Go well above the bed and perhaps apply a termite control under the
rubber where you will not be able to inspect.

How about large pots/containers instead?
