Default New bermuda lawn in winter

Xref: 127.0.0.1 alt.home.lawn.garden:3442

I have just completed a new home in Northwest Arkansas that I will be
moving into in the next week. Our plan is to add more topsoil and
blanket sod bermuda grass, but we have held off for a few months due
to cold weather and lack of money!

Can a hard freeze kill bermuda sod? When's the best time to lay it
down in our geographic area? If we delay the sodding, what type of
"temporary" grass seed can we throw down immediately to avoid the
erosion of our existing top soil? I heard rye grass would do the
trick. Any ideas?
