Hi All,

I was at the RHS Garden at Harlow Car in Harrogate today and saw wonderful
drooping pine, Picea Breweriana (Brewers Spruce).

Just wondered if anyone knows where I can get one from (currently in
Northumberland), would prefer local or online.
Also, anyone know where I can get a Californian Redwood from?

Thanks
J

Strictly speaking a picea is`nt a pine but we all get confused about
that. As lets face it we see scandanavian forests full to the brim
with lovely pine trees when in fact they are mostly larch.

Just teasing you in case you think I`m having a spades worth.

It`s a very nice Spruce and I`ve seen a couple of excellent examples
in the Bonsai world. Somewhat difficult to get hold of tho I suspect.

As for the Californian Redwood, you may be able to get some seed BUT
please remember that it is one hell of tree and it may not like our
climate too much to really thrive. Where it usually lives it gets
burnt and has adapted to that enviroment not our wet and colder
enviroment.

If you do manage to find the redwood tell us and I may well get one
myself.
