Not at all if done with care when you have no alternative. Both my
neighbour and myself had to use this method on our steep banks ay my
last house. Flymo on a long rope.

Omitted to add,

Can only be done on the petrol versions, both the Domestic and the
Contractor versions have pictures describing this method. Stand at the
top of the slope on flat ground and lower the mower over and down the
bank.

This cannot be done on the electric versions as there is a dead man's
handle switch.
