Has any grown cucumbers (straight eight) on a tomato cage?

I have grown cucumbers around the outside of a circle of
woven-wire fencing - like tomato cage wire but with smaller
openings (2" x 4"). I've done this for quite a few years.

Some of the cucumbers will go inside and be un-get-at-able,
and some will grow around the wires and be deformed, but on
the whole, it's an easy method of growing them and works
well, IMHO.

You probably need to put stakes in the tomato cage or it
will collapse (unless it's made out of rebar). Tomato cage
wire isn't as strong as regular woven wire fencing because
the holes are larger.
