Park it in your front yard and put a $200 sign on it. After 2 days
lower the price $20 each day it is not sold and tell buyers you won't
"hold" it for them. Give half the money to your favorite charity and
use the other half to take your sig other out on a date.

This sounds like an excellent idea to me. My city provides pickup of
fairly large articles (furniture, appliances) which people generally
try to get out by the curb a few days early so that others may 'glean'
something of use to them. If you merely want to get rid of this
critter, you don't have to sell, sell, sell -- just offer the item
with a reasonable price sign and reduce, as Phisherman suggests, until
it's snapped up.
