Wow - one day? Even if you hadn't been watering enough you should see a
progression over several days of wilting, curling etc.

I can't think of any of the plant diseases that makes such a profound effect
in one day either.

First thought that comes to mind for me is if you "burnt" them by over
fertilizing?
