Right.
But Mahonia 'Carity' is just one of several cultivars of a cross
between two Asian Mahonia species: Mahonia japonica x M. lomariifolia
(this cross is named Mahonia x media).
So it could be just as well Mahonia 'Winter Sun', Mahonia 'Buckland',
or some other cultivar.
M. 'Charity' is a good guess, though, since it is the most popular one
in the UK, I think. However, at Kew they have a collection of the
cultivars - so it's hard to tell which one you saw there.
Not that I found very much difference between them.
