Default lone start tick sighting

Hi Penny,

You are fortunate to have had a positive test. It is possible to be
infected and to still have a negative antibody test.

Have you been tested for other tick diseases?? This is very important.
The most common co-infections are bartonella and babesiosis. The
recommended lab for this is http://www.igenex.com

At this early stage 14 days of treatment may be enough but it might
not be. If you still are sick be sure and go to http://www.lymenet.org
to find what is called an LLMD. A Dr. who treats long term Lyme.

Your son should get on antibiotics right away. Only about 50% of
patients who have Lyme even get a rash.

Lyme is throughout the US and Europe. It is silly to think that deer,
mice, and birds stop at man made state lines.

The statistics are off with Lyme disease. If a Dr. treats (or even
diagnosis--in some cases) the illness they will automatically be
removed from insurance provider lists. There are many Dr.'s who treat
the illness under the table. Also, the CDC only keeps statistics on
people who are antibody positive (not all cases). Also not all states
even require reporting. Even CT no longer requires labs to report
positive tests to the CDC.
