there is a layer of epithelial cells over the scales of fish. this secretes the slime
coat. People who have used it find the wound is healed over the top but the
infection is still underneath. perhaps it causes the epithelial cells to seal over
and the infection gets sealed inside. salt is a lot cheaper and better for fish than
