Default filters

The distance makes no differance if you are still pumping the same number of
gallons per hour. But you will probably find it will have droped
considerably with all the extra resistance offered by the 15m pipework. you
would need your pump to work harder to or use a more powerful pump(depending
on type used)

Thanks to this Newsgroup and links, two years ago I built a biofilter and
vegifilter. For the first time in five years I had clear water in my pond
for the summer.
In an effort to tidy up and disguise the plumbing last year I moved the
filters about 15m from the pond. Result green water all summer!. I also
changed the filter media from lava rock to scrubber pads. My question-

Does
it matter how far from the pond the filters are? I will not ask about the
lava rock, people seem fairly divided on that issue!!
