In April, I threw down some seeds for evening-scented stocks (Matthiola)
and
since then I've been cultivating what I thought were these stocks.
However,
I'm now beginning to strongly suspect that these plants are, in fact,
weeds!


I've completely failed to grow these for two years running now.

The seedlings are naturally thin and weedy and slugs seem to scoff them in
one mouthful. They don't seem to like being slept on by the neighbours'
cats either
