Default Aerangis citrata needs help

I'd douse the bark with an insecticide to kill aphids if you want to see the
bloom. After blooming, I'd repot the plant in appropriate mix and size for
the plant. Then considering Rome's general climate, I'd water 2-3 times/
week, and fertilize every weeks with your fertilizer cut to 1/2 strength.
Give it more light than your Phalaenopsis, if possible.

Hello,

I'm growing an Aerangis citrata in Rome in a pot in front of a
window looking to south-est.
The plant is very small (about 1 inch high and 3 inches wide).
A bigger Phalaenopsis casts its shade over it.
I water it once a week and fertilize it with a 19-19-19 every three
weeks.
I've got two problems.
First: the main stem (not the flowering one) and the latest grown
leaves show brown-yellowish irregular areas as if they were dried.
Second: I noticed very small dirty-white aphids in the bark.
The plant is now ready to flower.
I've never grown Aerangis before.
What can I do to solve my problems and give the plant a better life?

Thank in advance,
Carlo
