No. It is just a coincidence but a nice one since it becomes a great
conversation starter when I am introduced at orchid shows and
meetings.
The orchid was named after another Bob Betts who ran an orchid nursery
in California many years ago. I believe he passed away in the mid
1970's.
We may be related if I were to look back far enough. If we are, it is
not a close enough relation for me to be aware of it.
