I've been told they are easy from cuttings but I've tried a few times
and never had any success. I much prefer air layers as they are easy if
done in late spring to early summer. This allows you to choose any
interesting portion of a tree and secure a much larger "cutting" which
will save several years of work.
Theres an article on my site here

under Propagation
Hope this helps

Subject: [IBC] Larch cuttings
Hi!
My name is Håkan Bengtsson and I´ve been lurking on this list on and off
for about 2 years. I live on the westcoast of Sweden ( about zone 7). I
was wondering when to take cuttings from larch (Larix Kaempferi) Or if
there is an even better way to propagate this species.
Sincerely
Håkan Bengtsson
