Oh, I beg your pardon. I thought you said any tree over 10 feet tall was a
danger and should not be allowed in city limits.

mature maple trees can reach a height of 120 feet with a canopy span of
80
feet. That means their roots will eventually reach out at least 40 feet
in
all directions. That tree poses a very serious potential hazard to any
houses around it, including the owners. I sure wouldn't want that tree
growing within ten feet of my house, garage or property line.
