We've spoken here about them before, so a couple of others have
worked with them. Don't recall who? Anita?
Could have been me- I was given one that was infected with an
eriophyid mite that caused the leaves to pucker with pinkish galls.
I was able to cure the plant by pulling off all infected leaves as I
saw them. So I can testify that these will put up with defoliation
very well.
Not sure about bonsai potential, but I'm definitely going to plant
one in my yard in a moist spot.
