Default Help... Dying Koi!

Feel free to shout away Nedra... Maybe that will get me worked up
enough to "kill" my friend... He DID say that he would replace all of
the fish that die (I guess that's a good thing)... I don't think he
realizes just how expensive Koi can be (especially when they're about
14" in length...

Here's my afternoon update... The fish that were extremely sick have
been placed in a "hospital" tank ((with a high dose of salt & some
MelaFix))... The main pond received a 30-40% water change (to get
most of the culprit medication out)... I've added MAJOR airation to
the pond (since most meds deplete the oxygen)... So far, all seems
OK... Please keep your fingers crossed!!!!

I would NOT do any more doctoring until someone
answers who is close to being a Koi Doctor. I would go to
www.koivet.com and read up on what doc has to say.

I'd do additional Large (40%) water changes .... Make SURE
that the TEMPERATURE of the water going is close to the
temperature of the pond water.....
Make SURE that you treat the water for chlorine/chloramines.

I don't know enough to tell you anymore right now....
I know a "friend" I'd like to shoot!!!!!

Where do I begin... ((Let's start with my pond stats))
I have a 1500 gal pond, with about 10 Koi, and a couple comets...
There are tons of plants, airation, and circulation...
I also use a UV filter (not sterilizer).

Several weeks ago (after some spawning), a couple of my Koi developed
ulcers... A "friend" of mine deciced to help me treat the ulcers with
"Anti-Ulcer" (he treated the entire pond). The problem is that he
treated for 2800 gallons, not 1500 gallons... When I noticed that my
fish were all gasping at the surface, I questioned my "friend", and
immediately did a partial water change. The fish seemed to be
happier...

The next couple of days, the temperature went from the 70's up into
the 90's (with lots of humidity). My fish started hiding under
things, and would not eat... Many of them also developed "white fuzzy
patches"... ((I assume this is either ich or fungus)). I've lost a
total of 5 fish...

WHAT CAN I DO??? Do you think that the "anti-ulcer" medication is
still effecting the fish?? How long do medications stay in a pond??
Should I use Formalin to treat the fungus/ich problem??

TIA
