treated for 2800 gallons, not 1500 gallons... When I noticed that my
fish were all gasping at the surface, I questioned my "friend", and
immediately did a partial water change. The fish seemed to be
happier...

Newbie question here...wouldn't an overdose of medication kill a bit faster?
It seems like gasping fish dieing days later with fuzz on them points to an
illness with the fish, and not an over medication. Just playing devil's
advocate, so we don't have to read about a ponder in jail for 1st degree
murder.
