Check out the past posts about "scarecrows". Some of us have these
motion-detector sprinklers to keep the heron away. It's a neat little
device, and might be worth trying if you're hesitant to net the pond.

I agree, I'm using mine for robins, has to be turned all the way up, but
the groundcover is staying in the blocks where I planted it. ~ jan
