Default Gold Fish Egg Bound?

Interesting that this has been going on for 2 plus years.
Usual causes of enlarged abdomen include:
fatty liver
cystic kidney
cystic ovary
a tumor
fecal or roe impaction
abscess/infection
Based on your description (length of time involved) abscess, roe impaction
not as likely.
Sounds like one of the first 4, but would really need to examine the fish. A
picture may help, but likely it won't, unless there are external
lesions/scale changes that could be seen via the picture.
Also, I assume you are dealing with a common GF (Comet, Sarasa, Shubunkin),
and not one of the more exotic (Lionhead, etc). Certain GF varieties develop
rather unique shapes.
Good luck,
Greg

I have a goldfish ~ 8yrs old that keeps growing larger and is not dropsy

(I
don't think - no pine cone effect) - been growing like this for 2-1/2

yrs -
looks like a football and just keeps getting bigger - if it is egg-bound
what do you suggest - I thought it was maybe a tumour of some kind and
actually thought it would have "passed on" before now - I would love to

save
it if possible
