The "rollie-pollies" or pill bugs usually eat only decaying matter so
are not usually a danger to plants. I saw usually because there are reports

A "Mealy Bug" looks like a small piece of cotton or fake snow on the
plant. Above ground they prefer to be where a branch meets the trunk or a leaf
meets a stem. There are also "Root Mealies" that some members have had
problems with.
