Default Suggestions for a fast growing plant to act as barrier/cover

"La di da Limey" wrote in message ...
Hi,

Can anyone help in suggesting a bush or shrub (or whatever) that would be
useful to provide cover of about 15 feet high and 10 feet wide, but not too
deep. Preferably self supporting. It is to be placed up against a west
facing wall which is sheltered and gets about 6 hours sun a day.

Many thanks

Regards

David

If you want real speed & height you need trees - poplar, eucalyptus,
leylandii?

in such a favoured site it seems a shame to plant only for cover when
you could train peaches, apples, apricots or all sorts of semi-hardy
exotics. As a compromise why not try a fan-trained fig? it will grow
fast enough especially if you ignore the usual advice to constrain the
roots, and might give you delicious fresh figs
