Default Can you help identify these berries?

Yes, definitely Mahonia.

| If the ends of the stems are a yellow colour when cut, then its is almost
| certainly a Mahonia.

| They grow here in the UK - and are black.

| ...has eight photographs of them and the bush they come from.
| The bush has spiky leaves - like holly.
| The berries are dark - rather like blueberries - but are red inside - and
| are a bit smaller - and more lemon-shaped. They come bunched together
| on strands with 20 to 30 berries.
| The bushes grow to about 2M tall.
| The berries taste OK - but are not very sweet.
| I'd love to know the species - or even the family.
| Thanks in advance for any assistance.
