It should be pointed out that during doctor strikes, death rates drop! When
they go back to work, they rise again.

It should also be pointed out that the "stats" you are reporting
pertain only to the "developed" world, not to a Taliban-like regime
where nobody has freedom to do anything.

You said "during doctor strikes". When/where were these?
Straight question.

Some have been in the United States. Another one was in Israel.

I brought up this bit of trivia realizing that it was not the whole story. I
think that it i8s just a matter of hastening the death of seriously ill
people by extreme treatments.

Sorry, I'm not following. Sounds like several things got mixed up in
there. "Extreme treatments", I took to mean the extraordinary
measures taken in the last approx. 6 months of a seriously-ill person,
usually a senior. Sometimes these are taken against the will of the
patient, because the hospital/doctor is afraid of legal problems..
Sometimes the patient is unable to make their wishes known, and the
family members can't/won't make the decision.

For this reason, I long ago executed a "Durable Power of Attorney for
Health Care". It spells out exactly what I do/don't want done if I am
not capable of making my own health decisions. I have no intention of
living on as a vegetable full of tubes.

Perhaps I have wandered off your thesis; will now step down from
pulpit g. But I still think everybody should execute such a
document, even -- or especially! -- young people. Anybody can have a
terrible accident that leaves them comatose...

Doctor strikes usually do not last long enough
for long term failure to show up.

I suspect they have been very, very few...
