Absolutely!

They are dragonfly nypmhs.
Soon they will crawl out of the pond on a stem and then split their skin, crawl
out the back and spread their wings. It will take about an hour for the wings
to harden and then off they'll fly eating up a bazillion or two of mosquitoes a
day.

While they are nymphs in the pond they will eat all sorts of underwater
critters, tiny tadpoles and tiny fish. Good population control.
