Default need help with my plants

Hey all,

I'm looking for some help in diagnosing the condition of a couple
plants/trees around my house.

I've posted some pictures at:
http://www.mmccoo.com/garden/garden%20problems1.htm

here are the problems I'm looking to solve:
pic948: This is a kiwi plant that I planted last spring (1.5 years
ago). The state that it's in is exactly what it was at the beginning
of the year. I grew a couple leaves and then stopped. It didn't die.
It just sat there going nowhere. Hardly seems normal

pic950: Last summer, a bunch of the arbor vitaes along my fence line
died. I assumed it was for lack of watering. This spring (6 months
ago) I picked up a bunch of new ones at home depot and planted them. I
also added the drippers to the sprinkler system I put in. They're
regularly watered, but again, they're dying. They're not quite as dead
and the lighting in the picture would indicate, but they're on their
way out. Too much water?

pic951: This tree has been around for a longer time. It shows some
signs of browning, but what concerns me is the lumps at the base. What
are they?

pic952: This is another type of evergreen that also seems not to be
doing so well. Too much water. The sprinklers are new so the tree may
not be used to as much.

I don't know how to read evergreen trees.

My last question is about my cherry tree. I have a very large one.
It's gotta be 40' tall. It did something strange this year. It bloomed
with lots of blossoms. It looked like it was covered with snow. Once
the bloom was over, all of the cherry stems fell off along with the
flowers. It seemed like I was in a pine forrest. The tree seems fine
otherwise. The neighbor has a cherry tree, though it's not nearly as
large. Last year, I got more trees from the branches of the neighbor
that were hanging over the fence than I did from my own tree! What to
do?

Any idea of what this problems individually or together might be a
result of?
