I'm not replying to anyone in particular hence the lack of
attributions.

Surely, once upon a time, most land was agricultural. Over the years the
farmers have had their land reduced and this land has been built on. If
the builders didn't allow enough space for farmers to access what
remained of their land with their large agricultural machines, it's no
good taking it out on the farmers - lobby the local planning
departments!!!!

Interesting attitude, and i quite agree, the farmers are certainly, in
general having a hard enough time of it anyway at the moment.

I see in this case that Mich has mentioned that some incoming millionaire
type has already threatened the farmer with legal action, it is this kind

of
stupidity and intolerance of the work the farmers are supposed to be doing
that is leading to them becoming more and more beligerant. What choice do
they have, if he accidently scratches a millionaires wall he'll be sued

for
rebuilding the whole house, and that'll be another bankrupt farmer and

more
land not being cultivated.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think all farmers are saint, but I think most

of
them need the patience of saints these days. The papers are full of

stories
of people moving to the countryside, for the views and the wildlife and la
la la, and then suing the farmer for waking them up when trying to milk

his
cows, or making odd smells when cleaning out the pigs, etc etc.

In this case though, I would like to think that approaching this

particular
farmer with a sympathetic ear, he is after all the one facing legal action
from the idiot across the lane, would probably elicit a more reasonable
response. Though this is rarely possible when the situation has been

allowed
to get totally out of hand already. Maybe he's just taking the aasy option
of swinging his trailer(s) round a corner rather than spending the extra

few
minutes to make the drive carefully, but then that's pretty much the way
almost everyone drives these days, it's also how most people live, do

what's
easy rather than what's right.

My understanding of the matter is that the farmer did not even show enough
manners to apologise. In that case, why should anyone express any sympathy
for him.
