Sue, I'd normally agree w/Joe, as most fantails do manage, though single
tailed goldfish can be very hard on them come spawning time.

What you describe with this particular fantail though sounds like it would
do better in the barrel, rather than have the stress of trying to keep up
with the group or entering the skimmer daily. ~ jan

Jan, I'll see what I can do to get her/him out of this stressful situation.
